Even though this week’s episode of SmackDown wasn’t the finest, Tegan Nox managed to dominate the news during the broadcast by announcing her engagement in an Instagram post.
“Life is good,” Tegan Nox wrote with a photo of herself and Sierra St. Pierre. “It’s difficult to be the famous one in a relationship,” Sierra St. Pierre captioned the identical snapshot she posted to her Instagram account.
Who Is Tegan Nox?
The Welsh professional wrestler Steffanie Rhiannon Newell was born on November 15, 1994. She had a contract with WWE and went by the stage name Tegan Nox; however, the organization let her go in 2021. Her career with the WWE was not over, though; in 2022, she made a comeback.
Nox began competing in local wrestling promotions in 2013 to start her career. She joined WWE in 2017 and was promoted to NXT. Nox, of the black and gold brand, had initially planned to compete in the Mae Young Classic Tournament, but an injury prevented her from doing so.
Nox rejoined the brand in 2018 and immediately began to stick in people’s minds. She competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic Tournament but once again got hurt while playing in a match. She made her NXT return in 2019 before making her NXT UK debut.
She then took a break from wrestling as part of a plot, after which she made a comeback and began teaming up with other wrestlers. She joined Shotzi Blackheart on Smackdown in 2021, and the two have been a very powerful tag team ever since.
The two made a big impression when they defeated Tamina and Natalya, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, in their debut. In 2021, WWE released Nox. The youthful star later returned to the business in 2022 to serve as Liv Morgan’s backup.
Tegan Nox Relationship
Travis Banks, a professional wrestler from New Zealand, was Tegan Nox’s first love interest. Their romance, which lasted for about 8 months until 2017, was never made public but was conjectured based on the two wrestlers’ social media postings.
Tegan Nox, a WWE wrestler, came out as gay in 2020 in a sweet Instagram picture with her and Sierra St. Pierre at Universal Studios. Tegan stood next to her girlfriend outside Hogwarts Castle and wrote, “Life is good” with a string of rainbow heart emojis.

Tegan Nox has since offered her opinion on the union. In an interview with Newsweek, the top challenger for Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s Title spoke candidly about the amazing responses she received after making her relationship public.
My life has always been a “don’t ask, don’t tell” situation, but I felt like it was the right time, especially when you’ve found the right one you’re in love with. It was the right time to do that. The reaction has been great. There are a few people who obviously don’t agree with that, but 99 percent of the reactions have been positive. I’ve got texts coming through from so many colleagues and friends. It was nice. It’s great to see that there are so many nice people in the world.
Tegan Nox
Tegan Nox and Sonya Deville spoke before the NXT Superstar decided to make their romance public. Tegan Nox is known as the first female superstar to enter the WWE.
Deville, as anticipated, turned out to be a tremendous help to Nox because she offered the NXT Superstar her phone number and was always there for support. Nox said that she was in constant communication with Sonya Deville and that the SmackDown Superstar had a major influence on her choice to go public with the details of her relationship.
I actually talked to Sonya before I even did this. She was a big, big help. She gave me her phone number and told me to text her if I needed anything. So we keep in contact quite a lot about it. She’s a massive help with the fans, because my family knew but my fans didn’t. So she helped me bring it out to the public.
