Have you ever wondered why your shower water drains so slowly? Then you remove the hair from the drain and grab the plunger. You go to the Logan hardware store to purchase the crystals that will fix the blocked drains, but nothing works.
You will probably call a plumber to solve your problem, but you can do a few things to try and fix it before calling. Many people have found that these methods are effective in clearing blocked drains.
Here is a List of Methods Can Help You!
-
Baking Soda and Vinegar:
The old remedy works really well. It’s worth trying it first. Mix a third cup of vinegar with a quarter cup of baking soda. Watch it fizz, then pour it straight down the drain. Let it sit overnight and then flush with hot water.
-
Baking soda and salt:
In the absence of vinegar, mix half a cup baking soda with the same amount of salt and pour it down your blocked drains. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then pour boiling water into the drain.
-
Boiling Water:
Pour boiling water down your drain if you do not have baking soda. It might work. Pour a third of the boiling water, followed by another third, and then the final third. Wait about 10 seconds between pouring each third.
-
Caustic Soda:
When the first three methods have failed to clear your blocked drains it is time to bring in the big guns. Wearing gloves and eye protection is essential when working with caustic soda. Pour 3 cups of caustic soap into 3 liters cold water, stir it with a wooden stick or a piece of wood, and then pour it down the sink. After 30 minutes, flush the caustic soda away with boiling water.
